The Life Insurance Industry - internet marketing

It occured to me today while I was studying up on who's saying what with regards to life insurance in Canada and the U.S. that the blog spammers are crowding out the serious bloggers.

Life Insurance is obviously really big business. There is a huge amount of competition for website marketers to get people on to their sites and sell them life insurance.

THE QUESTION IS: I wonder how much the life insurance carriers know about how spam works in their marketing. I wonder if the life insurance companies talk about and factor in how internet marketing works for them.

Some of the most aggressive blackhat marketers are doing life insurance lead generation for agents all over the U.S and Canada. I'm sure the life insurance carriers are not going to frown on such marketing activities because they're pretty well insulated from it. ie.. the leads go to the agents who sell the life insurance and then do the transaction through the life insurance carrier.

I'm sure that if the black hat spammers stopped marketing the life insurance companies might notice a different in their sales. It's something that I'm trying to think about.

While I'm not against spam, it certainly is annoying because it crowds out the serious bloggers and website developers.
